It was a great run from Jayden Richardson down the right and he picked out McCrorie who sent a fine finish beyond Jack Newman. But the Dons class showed in the end with Matty Kennedy impressive and Ramirez, whose Pittodrie future has been the subject of speculation, was the matchwinner. Aberdeen are looking to wipe away the pain of a miserable last season and this was a start - with four new boys in the starting XI, including skipper Anthony Stewart - but there is a long way to go in the Goodwin rebuild.
